It's true, wedding planning is hard, and planning a destination wedding can seem even harder. However, there are some super clear steps to take when planning a wedding, even one in a different country. I've listed out the top three steps that you and your partner needs to do to plan your destination wedding. To make it even easier, I have made a FREE wedding planning template PDF with all of the information from this blog post so that your destination wedding can go off without a hitch.
Step 1: set your budget
Yes, step one is probably the scariest. We all hate talking about money and figuring out how much this one day is going to cost us. But, having a budget will ensure that you don't spend more than you have and more than you want to.
STEP 2: CHOOSE YOUR DESTINATION
Here's the fun part, choosing where you'll have this amazing day. While you might have a destination in mind, it's important to consider what wedding theme or feeling that you want, how long it will take to get there and the forecast. If you want a super romantic wedding, make sure that you choose a romantic destination.
Holding your wedding at a resort is a great idea. It makes everything super easy for you and your guests. Plus, you know that the resort staff will go out of their way to make sure that you're taken care of.
The free PDF at the end of this post has all of my resort recommendations, no matter the destination!
step 3: guest list
Choosing who to invite to your wedding is such a struggle. Between your family, your partner's family, that one college roommate and your co-works, the list of people stacks up. Just because you're doing a destination wedding doesn't mean that you have to keep your guest list short, but it does mean that some people won't choose to make the trek to the destination.
For this reason, I always get my guests to make an A list and a B list. If anyone from your A list cancels, you can simply select someone from your B list to fill their place.
